A call for coordinated vaccination, surveillance, early warning, farmer support, and a long-term pathway towards disease freedom.

Confirmed potential outbreaks Premises under investigation
Defra/APHA figures reported as at 25 August 2026. These are a dated snapshot and will change.
Monitoring the outbreak is necessary, but monitoring alone is not a national control strategy.
The proposal calls for coordinated vaccination, midge surveillance, virus monitoring, strategic testing, early warning, farmer education, targeted support and measurable progress towards disease freedom.
1. Read the proposal.
2. Send it to your constituency MP.
