Livestock Equipment

Safe, Efficient & Reliable Solutions for Livestock Management

Livestock equipment is essential for any modern livestock farm, providing the tools needed to work safely, efficiently and humanely with cattle, sheep and other animals. From Livestock handling equipment including cattle crushes and races to cattle forcing tubs & weighing & EID systems, gates, hurdles, and drafting equipment, high-quality handling solutions help farmers reduce stress on livestock, improve workflow in the yard, and protect both animals and handlers.

Why Quality Livestock Equipment Matters

Whether you manage a smallholding or a large commercial enterprise, investing in robust, well-designed livestock equipment is the key to improving productivity, animal welfare and long-term farm performance.

Effective livestock handling is at the heart of good stockmanship. Well-designed equipment ensures animals move calmly and predictably, reducing the risk of injury and making routine tasks such as weighing, dosing, tagging, foot care and veterinary inspections far easier. High‑quality handling systems also help farmers meet UK welfare standards by minimising stress and ensuring animals are treated safely and humanely.

For handlers, reliable equipment reduces physical strain, improves safety and speeds up everyday jobs. Whether you’re working with cattle, sheep or mixed livestock, the right setup can transform the efficiency of your yard.

What is the difference between a manual and a pneumatic cattle crush?

The primary difference lies in speed, labor intensity, and power requirements.

  • Manual (HDX Series): These rely on physical levers operated by the farmer. They are highly portable, require no external power source, and are perfect for smaller herds or setups where simplicity and “plug-and-play” use are priorities.

  • Pneumatic (HD Series): These use compressed air to operate gates and headbales. They are designed for high-volume handling and “single-operator” efficiency, significantly reducing physical fatigue and increasing throughput during tasks like TB testing.

How do I choose between a manual (HDX) and pneumatic (HD) cattle crush?

The best choice depends on your herd size and handling frequency.

  • Manual (HDX Series): Ideal for smaller herds or less frequent use. They are robust, require no power source, and are easy to maintain with basic tools.

  • Pneumatic (HD Series): Best for high-throughput operations, large-scale TB testing, or solo operators. They offer faster throughput, consistent pressure, and reduced physical strain on the handler.

Can your handling systems be customized for my specific yard?

Yes. We offer bespoke Cattle Handling System Design. You can send us a rough sketch or photos of your existing space, and our team will create a professionally engineered layout. We focus on optimising cattle flow and handler safety, integrating our forcing tubs, races, and crushes into your specific site.

Is your livestock equipment eligible for UK farming grants?

Most of our high-specification equipment, including pneumatic crushes and weighing/EID integrated systems, is designed to meet the criteria for the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF). We recommend checking the current specific grant annexes, but we can provide the technical specifications required for your application.

Are your cattle crushes compatible with weighing and EID systems?

Absolutely. Our HD 1500 crush & HD 2000 Series, are “automation ready.” They are designed to integrate seamlessly with electronic weigh scales and EID (Electronic Identification) readers, allowing for automated drafting and precise data collection.

What is the durability of the steel used?

We prioritise longevity in the harsh UK climate. All Clipex® and Studman equipment we supply is constructed from high-quality hot-dipped galvanized steel. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and structural integrity, even in heavy-use environments.

Heavy duty crushes

How is delivery handled for large items like forcing tubs and crushes?

Due to the size and weight of livestock equipment, we coordinate specialised delivery across the UK. Please contact us with your postcode for a tailored delivery quote. We will discuss site access and whether you will need a forklift or tractor on-site to assist with offloading.

Do you provide after-sales support and spare parts?

Yes. As farmers ourselves, we know that equipment needs to work when you need it. We stock essential spare parts and offer technical support via phone or email (Monday–Friday, 10 AM – 8 PM). If you have a technical issue mid-job, we aim to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
